About Simon
I am a HCPC-registered senior clinical psychologist, with many years of experience working in NHS services and mental health settings. I provide psychological assessment and long- and short-term psychological therapy with individuals, couples, and families of all ages.
I am a warm, compassionate psychologist who provides a collaborative therapeutic space attuned to clients' values and goals. I have extensive experience treating a range of mental health-related difficulties, including issues with mood, depression, anxiety, worry, stress, low self-esteem, recovery from trauma, difficulties with social skills and anxiety in social situations, relationship and psychosexual difficulties, worries related to unusual beliefs and experiences, and existential concerns about leading a meaningful and fulfilling life.
I deliver a range of evidence-based psychological therapies, in particular cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), and draw on related therapeutic modalities, such as positive psychology, dialectical behaviour therapy, and wellbeing approaches that support people to overcome obstacles and realise their potential. I work flexibly with clients to gain a shared understanding of their needs, manage their psychological difficulties, amplify their character strengths, and identify meaningful positive experiences.
I gained my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, King’s College London, with a specialism in CBT, and have undertaken further training in various therapeutic approaches. I have a PhD in philosophy from University College London, and I gained an MSc in psychology at the University of East London and a BA and MA in philosophy at the University of Southampton. I have published many scientific papers on mental health in academic journals and given oral presentations and keynote lectures at numerous international conferences.
I currently offer sessions primarily by video call although in-person sessions can be arranged. My availability is flexible but includes weekdays and weekday evenings. My cost per session is £130 per 50 mins for individual sessions and £170 per 50 mins for couples and families.
