About Sophie
Sophie is a Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years’ experience working in mental health settings in the UK (NHS and charity sectors) and abroad. Sophie currently works for the NHS in central London, providing support for children and young people who are experiencing chronic and/or severe emotional and mental distress and their families.
Sophie has worked in inpatient and forensic settings, psychosis services, child and adolescent services, physical health psychology services and older adult services. She has experience working with difficulties relating to depression, general anxiety, social anxiety, health concerns and chronic health conditions, exhaustion and sleep difficulties, psychosis, self-esteem and confidence issues, bereavement, relationship difficulties, emotion regulation difficulties, complex/developmental trauma and self-harming behaviour.
Sophie has experience working with individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds in therapy (gender, sexuality, ethnicity, culture, religion). She facilitates a monthly reflective space with a group of psychologists to think about the ways in which they can most helpfully value and work with diversity both in and beyond 1:1 therapy sessions.
Sophie has a particular interest in working with emotion regulation difficulties, complex/developmental trauma, self-esteem and confidence difficulties and depression.
